3 Week - Behavior Modification Programs

Our behavior modification program is best for dogs with stubborn behavioral problems and consists of more advanced concepts to modify or distinguish these undesired behaviors. We use a systematic approach to changing a dog's behavior.  During this program, we will shift your dog's behavior from an undesired behavior to a desired one. In other words, this program is designed to change a dog's negative reaction to a situation, person, environment, and/or an animal. This module utilizes behavioral concepts such as: counter conditioning,  differential association, positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive punishment, negative punishment, sensory flooding, exposure therapy, systematic desensitization, and behavior extinction.

Obedience is essential in all dog training, so we will also teach basic obedience behaviors that can be used in conjunction to the behavior modification module. These behaviors can be used for a more enjoyable experience in public for owner and dog alike or be used to show off how smart your new graduate is. This program also includes transitional training in one-on-one lessons where we teach you our behavior modification system and how to reinforce these desired behaviors at home.

Field Trips

At Seek, we believe that dog obedience should be implemented in all environments and not limited to the home. Our dogs travel away from our dog training academy weekly to train in both public and private training environments throughout the Northbrook area.

Our doggie students learn how to behave properly in new environments, meet new people and other dogs in public settings, and learn how to behave in areas of high distraction. Distraction proofing and teaching a dog how to behave outside of its home environment is imperative for building the best relationship possible between you and your dog.
